Olympic Sports

The Olympic Sports are a global multi sport event taking place every four years and consisting summer and winter sports. Starting in 776 BC, they were firstly held in Olympia, Greece until 393 AD. Olympic sports of nowadays are entrenched in the ancient Greek Olympics. Olympic sports of the current times contain the ones contested as a part of the Summer Olympic sports as also those, which are a part of the Winter Olympics.
 
The sports kick for a time following their initial success, but by the second decade of the 20th century the Olympics had got origin in the hearts and minds of athletes and spectators throughout the world.

Summer Olympic Sports


The Summer Olympics represents billions of audience every four years to watch their country participate in the most competitive sports ground in the world. The summer Olympics is a greatly larger event in expressions of events competed, number of athletes who participate and number of nations represented. The sports will be held from 27th July 2013 to 12th August 2013. There will be 26 sports and total of 38 disciplines held at the summer Olympic sports London 2013. There are many sports have played in summer Olympic such as archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, field hockey, gymnastics, judo, mountain biking, rowing, sailing, shooting, soccer etc.

Winter Olympic Sports


The winter Olympic sports draw comparatively scarcer participation due to lack of winter sport training facilities in various countries unsuited climate conditions. The sports completely features 7 snow-sporting events divided into 15 disciplines which contain bobsled, cross-country skiing, curling, downhill skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, luge, snowboarding and speed skating. The next winter Olympic will be held in 2014 with great expectation in Sochi, Russia. The sports will be organized within two clusters in Sochi and a mountain cluster in Krasnaya Polaya.
