The 2010 Asian Games opening ceremony will be held at the new Citizens Plaza on Haixinsha Island on the Pearl River south of Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou. As inventive as it is to hold the ceremony of such a large sporting event on a small island, the seating capacity of the plaza is just too small.
