The XX Commonwealth Games 2014 will be held in Glasgow, the major city in Scotland. Glasgow has won bid to host for 2014 Commonwealth Games. As you all know, the Commonwealth Games is one of the most esteemed & valued events in all over the globe.
The 20th Commonwealth Games will run for 12 days from 23rd July to 3 August 2014. Commonwealth Games 2014 will greet 6,500 athletes and officials from 71 countries. There are also plenty of thousands of people welcomed to the host city of the Commonwealth Games.
The venues of Commonwealth Games 2014 Glasgow :
Hampden Park - The big venue for athletics and for the closing ceremony would be take place on Hampden Park, Scotland's National Football Stadium. Celtic Park would be utilized for the opening ceremony.
Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre - This big and beautiful Scottish Conference and Exhibition Centre (SECC) would provide many multipurpose arena style venues including the planned Scottish National Arena for events such as boxing, gymnastics, wrestling, judo and weightlifting. It will be also hosting related entertainments actions for the time of the games.
Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Complex - This lawn has already five bowling greens installed for competitive use. A complete renovation and improves of the park is ongoing, and the park is also capable of holding events like hockey and triathlon.
Ibrox Stadium - The beautiful Ibrox stadium is the considered venue for the rugby sevens tournament. The another outdoor venue in the city, such as Pollok Park or the military Dechmont ranges in Cambuslang will be take place the shooting competition.
National Indoor Sports Arena - Parkhead in the East End of the city will be utilized for a new National Indoor Sports Arena and Velodrome Complex. Velodrome is the division of Scottish National Indoor Arena and will be opposite Celtic Park.
Tollcross International Aquatic Centre - It is previously one Olympic standard 50 meter swimming pool owned by Tollcross International Aquatic Centre. The pool and the facilities would be widely refurbished, and a second 50 meter pool would be added for the Games' aquatic actions.
